Swoon has often turned an eye to the subject of motherhood. As a patron of art museums all over the world, she was surprised to find that there were depictions of every subject matter imaginable—with the notable exception of birth, a most central human experience.

This new print, a richly colored Giclee adaptation of a monumental 7 x 9 ft ink drawing, seeks to make this experience one that can be honored in our day to day life, and on the walls of our homes. It’s a small artwork that is also a radical act of celebration.
